What we stand for

We are convinced that technology is the future for the next generation and understanding technology and what it can achieve at a young age is essential. The focus for Tech4RemoteKids is to helps kids in the remote areas in Vietnam. Vietnam was chosen because access to computers is generally a problem in remote areas in Vietnam, and not all schools have computer labs. In university a basic IT qualification is a requirement, and to help kids enter university an understanding for technology needs to be fostered early.

Meet our team

We are a small nonprofit organisation consisting of three people who all have something in common - a drive to help children who are less fortunate.

Leanne Duong-Rutter

Leanne enjoys helping people where she can. She is the youngest in a large family of 10 siblings. Her parents made many sacrifices to bring her and some of her siblings from Vietnam to Australia when she was 11. She grew up and was educated in Australia, Sydney. She recently moved to Sweden with her husband and two daughters. She is working in the automotive industry in the IT area. She hopes to be able to help kids in remote areas where the chance of education is low and even lower to learn new technologies. She believes that people, especially children, will be disadvantaged if they do not understand or use technology. Together with her friends she hopes to raise awareness and support so that the right help can be provided to those kids in remote areas who does not have the means to get the right education.

Lena Olesen

Lena is also working in the automotive industry in the IT area but she started her career as a nurse. Helping and supporting people is an important part of Lenas life. She is also very sporting and enjoy to travel, discover the world and move her inner boundaries. Running NY Marathon, climbing Kilimanjaro, changing career in midlife, moving to Gothenburg alone as a 18 year old from a small village. Injustices makes her going, she really wants to help and try to make a difference. Especially for children as it will be hard for them to affect their situation without good education. She also hopes to raise awareness and support together with her friends.

Nhung Vu

Nhung is passionate about helping people that live in injustice. She was born in Sweden to a family that escaped poverty in Vietnam and came to Sweden to raise their family of five. She is a software developer also currently working in the automotive industry. Her trips to Vietnam with her family made her realize that many children that are born in poverty and especially in remote areas have a low degree of education, which she sees as unjust because all children should be able to have the same education. As a software developer she has a soft spot for technology and believes that understanding technology will benefit these children in pursuing a higher education.
